This is the only Ceylon grown green tea that I can find in bulk. I drink Ceylon because it has the least heavy metal content. This Ceylon Green is quite good. Grassy, floral, but not overwhelmingly so. Strongly recommend steeping this tea below boiling temperature, and for less than 2 minutes. It's delicate, and if you get your water past boiling, and steep it for 5+ minutes, it will get bitter fast. I should say that I steep it for short times at lower temperatures because I also steep in 2-3 times. However, I rated it 4 stars because I have no other green tea to compare it to. It's the best available, but its also the only Ceylon green available in bulk loose leaf.
For 25 years I’ve drank loose green tea by the potful, including high-end varieties like Dragonwell. When I wanted to switch countries of origin, I came across Tekola Teas. This has become my go-to Green tea. The high standard of care with which it is harvested and processed is very evident. I trust this tea, and the conscientious people that make it available to me. When making a pot, I avoid overheating the water by turning off the heat as soon as I hear steaming sounds in the kettle. Then I steep it way longer than most people probably do. That’s how I make Irish Green tea! But the excellent quality of Tekola organic tea allows for that.
This is a great Green Tea! I use this tea on a daily basis and will continue to do so!
